Integrated

Integrated projects are those where the cabinetry, surrounding woodwork, windows, doors,  flooring, even the glass, fabric and furnishings, are part of a cohesive whole.  Many of our current references to “cabinets” no longer have an expectation that the house or room will be considered as a whole, therefore, cabinet boxes are hung on sheetrock walls with substantial space to the next element.  Often, the “trim” in the room will be in juxtaposition to the cabinets but clearly a separate, and often unrelated, element.    I’m not trying to define an either/or condition, but more of a continuum from completely unrelated elements in a room to a coherency in color, material, theme, lines and symbols.  Projects will fall along that continuum, these photos represent rooms more toward the latter.
